Residents share their experiences at The Grove of Elmhurst

“The staff is lovely and caring.”

The Grove of Elmhurst took wonderful care of my mom from admission until she left this world for heaven. We needed to get mom into a nursing home quickly and the admission staff worked very closely with us to get her in. The facility is lovely. The thing that struck me immediately is the cleanliness of the facility and no bad smell. The staff is lovely and caring, all the way from the laundry person to the nurse practitioner and everyone in between. They answer in a reasonable amount of time and answer lovingly. Mom shared her meals with me, she was on a soft food diet, they were good. I was surprised that soft food could be prepared that tasty and in such a variety. Mom didn't care to get out of bed for activities; however, I walked past the activity room and dining areas many times that were filled with social interaction. The social director would stop in to see mom and have a chat since mom didn't want to get out of bed. The Grove of Elmhurst encourages the residence to be social and move about, but they will not force anyone to do so. The way they physically handled mom, got her up, moved her around was amazing. They truly are professionals.
